PRINCIPAL’S WELCOME

Welcome to the Dunmore Lang College website. It’s a pleasure to present to you the life of the College in text, video and interactively.

Please browse at length to get a full picture about life in this contemporary academic community. It’s a lively place: swirling with ideas, activities, unique individuals and opportunities. Our residents are postgraduate and undergraduate students from many different backgrounds and from all of Macquarie University’s four faculties – Arts, Human Sciences, Business and Economics, and Science.

Academic studies are at the centre, of course, with free academic support provided to increase your achievement levels. We also emphasise developing individual and community life, so there’s a strong pastoral care network through Resident Advisers and residential staff.  College is one of life’s best opportunities for making friends, for learning things you wouldn’t otherwise learn, and for talking through life’s big questions. College is fun, friendly and like a family. 

The world is a changing place. This affects universities and colleges for university students. Through all the changes, it’s our privilege at DLC to be involved in three important tasks facing the world today – education, youth and the building of community.  We inherit these at university level and work hard to blend them into a rich lifestyle experience for our members. We also want you not to have to worry too much about chores such as cooking and cleaning*, arranging internet plans, and so on, and and our Lifestyle choice bundles many services into your fees for your convenience and economy. (*Postgraduate members have a choice of self-catered accommodation in 1 and 2 BR apartments, as well as fully-catered accommodation.)

We’re particularly keen that you learn widely, enhance your leadership skills and develop a healthy sense of service, whether that gets to be played out locally, nationally or worldwide. We put many resources into providing opportunities for you to do these.

Dunmore Lang College is an affiliated college of Macquarie University. Situated on the Macquarie University campus, it provides fully-catered accommodation for 254 students, both undergraduates and postgraduates, and self-catered accommodation for 22 postgraduates.
