Foundation

The Dunmore Lang College Foundation was established by the Board of Directors in 1995 to build a corpus of assets, the income from which will be used to support the future development of Dunmore Lang College.

The Community & Foundation Committee meets four times each year and is chaired by Peter Sjoquist AM, a Macquarie Bachelor of Economics graduate and winner of a 2006 Macquarie University Distinguished Alumni Award.  Peter spent more than 20 years in television and movie production before turning his talents to the Rock Challenge - a performing arts showcase for young people in Australian schools.  His outstanding youth community work has been recognised with such awards as Social Entrepreneur of the Year, the Centenary Medal and a Membership of the Order of Australia.

The Foundation
has been particularly important to the College in recent years, both in the construction of Stages 1 and 2 of its Master Plan and as an important source for an expanding suite of scholarships.

As a way of providing the best range of services and facilities to the student residents of DLC, College income is supplemented by renting the accommodation and conference facilities to other guests. These guests may among others, include families and friends of students, visiting academics, overseas University groups, special interest groups or private guests. The College is looking to the local corporate market and University departments to provide business for both the conference and accommodation facilities. The presence of other guests also provides the College's students with the opportunity to mix with people from different backgrounds and experiences.
