Miss World Australia comes to DLC!
The Dunmore Lang College 2008 Annual Lecture was given this year by Caroline Pemberton, Miss World Australia 2007. As can be imagined, her visit drew a large crowd of residents, staff and Board members. Choosing as her theme the concept of service by young people, she spoke with enthusiasm and no notes for over 40 minutes on a cold winter’s night in June.
Caroline attended Pymble Ladies College and then the University of New South Wales as a high-performing psychology student. Prior to the Lecture, she entertained guests at a private dinner in College with stories of her experiences at Base Camp in the Himalayas.
Caroline is the Australian F1 Ambassador. Since her beauty pageant win she has been actively involved in a range of humanitarian work within Australia and overseas. Her visit reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to give its members opportunities to meet people who are moving and shaping the world around them.
