Employment Opportunities for Students
The College has a policy of providing a number of part time work opportunities for residents each year. The number of positions required might vary from year to year but the approximate number is given in brackets:
- Resident Advisers (14)
- Resident Tutors (11)
- Librarian (1)
- Computer Support Officers (3)
- Photographer (1)
- Reception work (3)
- Housekeeping and grounds (3)
- Finance (3)
Many employment opportunities also exist at:
- The University (Sports Association, Student Organisation, Library, Hotels etc.); and
- The Macquarie Shopping Centre - a large shopping mall that is located just one block's walking distance from the College with a multiplex cinema, department stores, banks, supermarkets, food outlets, ice-rink and hundreds of specialty stores.
The College's Alumni Committee also organise and present an Annual Careers Night in the College at which prominent alumni speak about a wide range of employment issues including interview skills, resume writing, building a life-long portfolio and so on. The Alumni also provide occasional work and work experience opportunities for college members.
