DUNMORE LANG COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

Dunmore Lang College offers generous scholarships and bursaries to assist our students to successfully complete their university studies.  Dunmore Lang College scholarships recognise academic excellence and/or sporting, cultural, music or artistic achievements.  Dunmore Lang College bursaries emphasise social inclusion, leadership, and equity.  Several awards are based on financial difficulty and/or other needs.  Each year the College awards over $400,000 in student assistance as detailed below.

Dunmore Lang College / Macquarie University joint scholarships 

Dunmore Lang College and Macquarie University jointly fund a number of full scholarships for Rural and Regional students and also for Indigenous students that cover all accommodation fees for up to four years.  Applications for these scholarships are through the Macquarie University website at the link below.

MQ DLC Indigenous Incentive Scholarship – applications close 3 January 2023. Please use the same application link as for the regional and rural scholarship above.

Dunmore Lang College and the Country Education Foundation Scholarship – this scholarship is administered by the Country Education Foundation and provides a 50% discount on student accommodation costs for a rural student beginning their degree in 2023.  Further information about this scholarship can be found at https://cef.org.au/student-support/search-for-scholarships/.



Dunmore Lang College returning student scholarships and bursaries

Dunmore Lang College also provides ongoing support and recognition of students, their needs, successes, and achievements.  The following scholarships and bursaries are awarded annually, and students are invited to apply through an internal application process.    

  • Dorothy Knox Bursaries  – are based on the primary criteria of financial need and academic progress.

  • Margaret Saville Award – Students are invited to self-nominate or nominate a fellow resident for this award in Semester Two prior to the Valedictory Celebration.  It is awarded based on service to the college 

  • John Dunmore Lang Senior Scholar award - recognises the contribution of a senior student to the life and community of Dunmore Lang College as well as their potential to contribute to the wider community in their future professional career and community service.

  • Dunmore Lang College Academic Awards – recognise the highest academic achievement of a student in each of the four faculties at Macquarie University

  • Dean Frost Memorial Scholarship – is awarded to the student with the highest academic results overall.

  • Rotary Club of North Ryde Scholarship – this scholarship is awarded to a returning student at the beginning of the year whose degree has an international focus.

  • GradReady GAMSAT Principal’s Scholarship – each year one prospective medical student is recommended for the GradReady GAMSAT Attendance Course, which supports their preparation for the GAMSAT.  Further details about the course can be found here https://gradready.com.au/gamsat-preparation-courses/principal_scholarship
