2024 Fee Schedule and information

Our 2024 accommodation fees align with the Macquarie University academic calendar year and cover all costs for students including:

accommodation - there are three room types, Standard, Shared Ensuite and Private Ensuite. Please see our virtual tours to look at the different offerings in each room.
3 meals a day plus snacks. Our kitchen team provide varied, healthy meals for all students and are able to cater to all dietary requirements. Take away the stress of planning your meals, grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning up after yourselves.
utilities - all bills included.
cleaning - all Standard rooms are cleaned fortnightly, Shared and Private ensuite rooms are cleaned weekly.
study hall and tutorials - these are available for all undergraduate students, ranging from our weekly study hall sessions for first years through to tailored tutoring sessions for specialised units.
high-speed wifi - provided by Macquarie University.
subsidised gym membership at the Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre.
access to our psychologist who is available once a week.
social events.
and so much more!

You are signing up for a 37 week contract which aligns with Semesters One and Two of the academic year. Options are available to extend your stay over the breaks or have the peace of mind that you can move out in the break and you aren't paying for a room that you aren't using!

Contracts with alternative dates are also available for students studying at the Macquarie University College.

Payment Options

There are two payment options:

Pay in advance for the semester or the full year
- through bank transfer using the details provided on the invoice
- by credit card via Reception on +61 2 9856 1000 or coming into the office between 10-5pm Monday to Friday.
Pay via fortnightly instalments using Edstart (for Australian residents) or PaySmart (for International students). Edstart and PaySmart offer options to extend the timeframe of the payments to reduce the fortnightly amount, if required. Please reach out if you would like further information.

Upcycled Mugs

‘Up-cycled Mugs’ sourced from local charity shops are a staple in the dining hall. This intiative has cut down the purchase of new mugs at regular intervals throughout the year.
Doyle Bros Waste Management

Doyle Bros makes recycling more efficient and accessible by collecting all waste in the one bin. Waste is sorted and after recyclable items have been removed what remains is turned into Processed Engineered Fuel, a fuel substitute for coal and gas. This process reduces landfill to an incredibly small amount of 3% of original volume going to landfill.
Blackroo Vending Machines

Blackroo Corporation, a social enterprise, provide the College with snacks and refreshments year round with beautiful vending machines. This revenue stream allows them to engage in meaningful ways to Close the Gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Leadership opportunities

Students in all year levels have an opportunity for leadership roles, learning new skills that equip them for the workforce after Macquarie University, or for part-time work during their studies. We have over 80 positions and there will be a role suited to you if you want to get involved during your time at Dunmore Lang College.
Sports and activities

Enrich your Macquarie University experience and wellbeing by participating in sports and activities at Dunmore Lang College. We offer a range of social sports, intercollegiate competitions, arts and musical events, and a wide range of social activities.
Orientation and transition to College

New students are supported by caring staff and senior students through their transition to living at Dunmore Lang College and adapting to tertiary studies. Fun sessions and events during Orientation Week provide opportunities to make friends, become familiar with College, Macquarie University and Sydney.
Academic Support

Study Hall happens twice per week with visiting tutors as higher engagement results in better academic outcomes. Students at Dunmore Lang College have consistently performed above the Macquarie University average. Live in a space where your commitment to your studies is valued and made easier by learning with friends in the comfort of a supportive community.
24 hour wellbeing support

Wellbeing support is available from live-in senior staff, an overnight staff member, a team of senior students (Resident Advisers), and a psychologist who visits once a week for free counselling appointments. Live in an environment where your mental health and wellbeing is important to us.
Safe and secure living space

Dunmore Lang College has a secured perimeter with access via your personal security fob, and your bedroom door has its own lock. Our overnight Community Supervisor is available for any concerns and CCTV cameras are located at external entrances and in common areas. Live in a safe and secure place for peace of mind while studying at Macquarie University.
Communal Spaces

There are many communal spaces throughout College for catching up with friends, gaming, playing pool or table tennis, studying away from your own room, grabbing a late-night snack, or attending a formal Dunmore Lang College dinner. A large park outside the College gate is ideal for a picnic under the shade of a tree, casual footy kickaround, or to take a staff member's dog for a walk - they are regular, welcome visitors to College!
