About us Jobs Jobs POSITIONS VACANT: BOARD DIRECTOR VACANCIES 2022 The Board is seeking to expand its diversity of its membership by appointing up to four independent non-executive directors to the existing complement of four independent and two university-aligned directors. Candidates from Indigenous and rural/regional backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous experience on a board in the not-for-profit sector, experience of living in a university residential college (any) or a connection with Macquarie University is highly desirable. The expected commitment is attendance at five Board meetings per year of two to three hours duration, attendance at one full-day Strategy Planning meeting per year and membership of at least one committee of the Board. This is a voluntary position with reasonable travel expenses to be reimbursed for a Director living outside Greater Sydney. The Board is seeking candidates who will expand the diversity of its membership in the following areas: Culture, ethnicity, religion Age (younger than 50 years) Socio-economic background Indigenous identity Rural/regional background Geographic location Sexuality and gender identity Candidates are expected to evidence the following core competencies: Commitment to the ethos and values of Dunmore Lang College Knowledge of governance Strategic thinking Financial acumen Risk management mindset Ability to analyse information, express views, and debate robustly while maintaining a professional and collegiate manner A Bachelor degree is required. Post-graduate qualifications are desirable. Qualifications from a recognised institution, e.g.: AICD or The Governance Institute are preferred (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of appointment).
