Principal of Dunmore Lang College

Dr Murrie-West has been Principal of Dunmore Lang College since 2013 bringing over seventeen years of experience in leading University Colleges and Residences in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Dr Murrie-West has completed a BA in Politics and BCA is Management and Marketing from Victoria University, Wellington and a graduate degree in Bioethics from Otago University where he was awarded the Begg PhD Scholarship. In 2010, he completed a (mid-life ‘crisis’) PhD from The University of Melbourne exploring the end-of-life decision-making through the lens of narrative fiction.

In addition to working in Residential Colleges, he has experience in marketing and business, tertiary education and the not-for-profit or for-purpose sectors.

Dr Murrie-West has extensive experience in managing the issues and challenges facing the Residential College and higher education sectors as he has lived and worked in this area for over seventeen years.
He is committed to developing and sustaining safe and healthy residential communities that will provide students with the support needed to successfully negotiate the transition from their school and home to completing a university degree and beyond.
